SUMMARY
Based on my results, k-pop is liked not only for their looks but also dedication, effort and uniqueness that k-pop has. This music style is a change from our usual English artists but they both have one main goal: doing what they love, and that's music. Their passion for music has been clearly identified by fans through the work they put in to make sure fans are always included. Majority (70%) in the survey said that they developed an interest in k-pop through friends and family, they were forced to watch music videos and acknowledged that it was quite good. The song was catchy, dance moves were eye catching, etc. K-pop songs are attempting to be similar to American songs, however they focus more on the dance. As they have to perform their newly released song every week in a month, this is part of promotion. They are trying not to stray off the American-like songs to make sure they capture the attention from foreigners also to make sure they will like it as well. So, even though fans may not understand the lyrics, the dance, fanservice and enthusiasm make up for it.
